A Quick Note About Mr. Strawn
Good day everyone!!! Thank you for taking the time to read about Me, Mr. Strawn. I am truly excited to have the chance to work with you and your families this school year.
I am in the middle of my 14th year of teaching and am eagerly to embarking on this new and fresh journey. Throughout my life, I have been blessed with the opportunity to be a part of making a difference in the lives of children of all ages. For the past nine years I have worked as a teacher in the Evergreen Public Schools with students in grades 3-5. While this was especially rewarding, Today, I am blessed because I have finally been given the opportunity to address a sincere and life-long desire to get to the place that inspired me from the beginning, middle school education.
The most important motivating factor influencing me into and through college was the desire to make a difference in the lives of middle aged youth (6th, 7th and 8th graders). This desire began for me when I was in middle and high school. Throughout my early adult years, I sought out opportunities to both, volunteer and be employed with organizations that dealt with middle school aged youth. Over time, I tapped into innate abilities and attained new skills and knowledge that helped support this age group through the trials and tribulations that accompany the adolescent years of life. Thus, the personal goal was made to get my teaching degree and set both, my personal and professional life up so that I could sustain a career while making a positive difference in the lives of middle school age kids every day.
Over the course of my years as a teacher, I have learned that teaching requires a dedicated individual who seeks opportunities to grow both, intellectually and emotionally. Teaching is a profession that needs strong leaders and citizens who are passionate about learning. Finally, teaching is a profession that needs those that are passionate about building lasting and meaningful relationships that can serve the individual throughout their respective lives. I am confident that I am one of these people.
On a personal note, I am a proud son of Dan and Sandra Strawn, brother of 7 siblings, husband of Christie Strawn and father of three beautiful children, Davis, Brooks and Reese Strawn.
Thank you again for this great opportunity to work with you and your family.
Sincerely,
Dean Strawn
